Translocation by George Logan

Just how did African wildlife make its way to the lush landscapes of Scotland and England? Through the masterful work of photographer George Logan. The collection of photos you see here took over five years to create, and had Logan traveling extensively throughout Africa, including Namibia, Tanzania and Kenya, to capture wild animals in their natural habitats. The landscapes were then shot in Logan’s homeland of Scotland and the wild coastlines of Cornwall. Logan combined these images together to create a spectacular set for his book Translocation.

How did Logan come up with the idea? “As I boy I’d tell tall tales to classmates and claim that I’d been raised on an African farm, surrounded by all sorts of exotic wildlife. It had me imagining how these creatures would appear in the rural Scottish landscapes I was familiar with. This project has allowed me to explore those early fantasies,” he says.
The photographs have received several prizes, including Gold at The Association of Photographers Awards.
